The greatest honor that can be bestowed by the gnomish race.

The Catagnomic Horde of Ak'Anon

The Order of the Gemcutter is a prestigious honor that carries with it a long and glorious history. King Ak'Anon, in his great wisdom of knowing that even gnomes cannot handle every situation, created this honor for those not of Brell Serellis' gnomish kin. When another race performs honorable and epic deeds on behalf of the gnomish people, this honor was bestowed upon them. From that point on they are known as 'Gnome-friend'. This is not a light honor, but one of ancient standing. Not one gnome takes this honor lightly, for in all the history of the Horde, and for that matter Ak'Anon, only three people have had the name 'Gnome-Friend'.

An honor above all else.

Gemcutters are expected to hold to the same values of honor, respect, camaraderie, and accountability as any other member of the Horde.

Once the honor has been bestowed, it is for life. Only one Gemcutter has been dishonorably discharged; his vile name was stricken from all annals of Gnomish history, and his name removed from The Manual.

Speak not his evil name, for it no longer exists. He is dead in the eyes of the Gnomish people.
